July 19 1815: Allies Behaving Exceedingly Ill

‘My DEAR Henry,  You will have heard of our great battle in Flanders, and of its final result in the surrender of Buonaparte to the Bellerophon, off the Isle d’Aix; and if the Allies will only be a little moderate, that is, if they will prevent plunder by their troops, and take only what is necessary for their own security, we may hope for permanent peace.
