November 21 1814: A Very Pretty Thing

I have for the first time looked into ‘Pride & Prejudice’ & it is really a very pretty thing. No dark passages – no secret chambers, no wind howling in long galleries, no drops of blood upon a misty dagger – things that should rather be left to lady’s maids and sentimental washer-women.
